Stage 1: Flatland and Slaughterhouse-Five
Stage 1 was reading both books in each class. For Humanities, we read Slaughterhouse-Five and that book was about a man named Billy Pilgrim and he felt as if he was stuck in time. So for instance he felt that no matter what he would do he would end up in the same spot. Throughout the book billy learns of Time and space and death from these aliens as he continues to battle the nazis in World War 2. Now in Math 2 we read the book Flatland. Flatland was about a world were everything is 2D and instead of humans there are shapes of all sorts. After a couple of chapters that explain the world it eventually gets to the main character and he is just a normal guy with a wife and kids but then one day he starts dreaming of different dimension and the day after that he is confronted by A Sphere from the 3D world. He telling the main character A Square about all the different dimension and how everything war was about to break out in the 3D world as well as the 2D world. I actually learned some interesting things for these books for example in Slaughterhouse-Five The aliens tell Billy about how humans need to learn to see time they way they do and they way they see time is as something that not in a straight line but that can be all over the place. When I heard the aliens say that, it really made me think about how we do see time as if it was in a straight line and how time is so a big and confusing thing to understand.
Stage 1: Reflection
In Math you usually never read books in class but as we did for this project I did not find it terrible. In a way the book we read made us think a lot more about math then anyone usually would. We had to try to comprehend the different dimension and the mathematical reasoning in Flatland. Reading this book in math did not really change they way I think about math. If anything it really showed me that math is in everything. I found it super interesting to see a mathematical world. I feel like it must have been really hard to come up with and to create this world with completely different beliefs and rules. In both of the books I read, the similarity would be that they both talk about time and all the different dimension. After making these connections I don't think my learning has really grown or expanded but my questions and curiosity has.
My art piece is an alien from Slaughterhouse-Five seeing the past, present, and future of a certain Flatlander's choice to tell everyone about the 3D world. At first I could not think of what I could do so I decided to make a spaceship looking down at the flatlanders but after disscusing it with my teacher i had to change my project because it did not have a theme which was one of the project requirements. My most recent art piece shows the theme of Time and Multi-dimesionality. What sparked the idea to create a alien seeing the past, present, and future was my interest with the alines point of view of time and space. My final art piece did not change my mind at all of either books. My art piece set me up for stage 2 because now I know what i need to look for.

Stages 2 and 3: SHATTERED, A Narrative Art Exhibit
In math and humanities we created a meow wolf kind of project. So in other words a interactive art show. We created different room like following the story line of a man who got in to a car accident and was in a coma and after the coma he saw they world differently then he first saw it. My role is this project was a builder. We were in charge of created the walls for the different rooms. I also helped gather some car parts to make the crashed car in the exhibition. Going to meow wolf helped us builders get an idea of how to create the room and what art could be in the room. I learned that communication is key to a good project because if everyone just does there own thing we will lose track of what needs to be done. I think i did my best building the wall but after we finished the builders really had nothing to do and i could of pushed my self to find something to do. A humanities skill i developed was different perspectives like how many different way you could see they story line going. This project made me enjoy project based learning because the whole class can contribute to a really cool project.
