Things to improve on.
Sentence Craft, Style, and Proofreading
There are many ways I can improve my writing and one of them is too work on my sentence craft. What I mean by sentence craft is to make my sentences flow a little better. This should eliminate run on sentences. The way I could work on better improving my sentence craft would be to proofread after I finish writing an essay or a writing piece. This will help because then I could also catch grammar and punctuation problems.
I don't have that hard of a time with evidence but I definitely think that I could improve in this part of writing. If I find evidence for each paragraph and it explain it, it will not only make my essay better but longer and make it go into more depth. In my in-class essay I was writing about my internship experiences and why I enjoyed the whole marketing aspect but I was struggling on how to explain it well without going over the word limit. I think I could get better at the evidence portion of writing by creating a outline so I can already have my thoughts in order before I write it.
Thesis and Introduction
Lastly, I think I could work on having a better thesis statements and Introduction. I think I could improve them by adding a more straight to the point but well worded thesis. This is important because it's the first part of you essay that someone reads and it need to catch their attention so they continue reading the rest of your essay. In my scholarship essay I get to the prompt of the essay too fast so there's no time for a nice smooth introduction that will give of a hint of my personality. What I think I could do to create better introductions would be to create an outline of all the points I want to get across in my thesis and just to play around with it until I believe it gets what i want across to the reader.
